The Global Corporate Challenge (GCC) project allows 23,000 participants to track their daily progress on a virtual journey around the globe. Their journey is measured by number of steps, which are tracked on pedometers worn by the participants.

The solution relies on the integration of Google maps combined with the sophisticated use of Macromedia Flash to create a dynamic interface that supports daily traffic in excess of 20,000 visitors.
In the 2005 Global Corporate Challenge there were over 1,000 teams who walked in excess of 10 billion steps. In 2006 there was a 500% increase in participants from the 2004 event. In 2007 GCC have yet again increased participants to 23,000 (3311 teams). The response to additional features such as the community section was amazing with over 5000 stories and profiles submitted in the first few days.
